From 23rd May (1) Schools closed (2) partial lockdown later full lockdown continuing into June.
- Pamphlets requesting a ban on Americal Ceylon Mission distributed to students and teachers of Union College Tellipalai on 21st. An English version is ready and a Sinhalese version is under preparation. 250 copies with Tamil Sinhala and English versions will be printed for posting to the 225 parliamentarians.
- Reaching out to all our contacts/volunteers (400 in number distributed in 18 districts), seeking their participation in observing the 402nd anniversary of Sankili, the last Hindu King of Sri Lanka on Vaikasi waning moon eighth day (03.06.2021). 38 responded. Each was provided with a banner and 10 posters. Pandemic and the lockdown prevented the usual kriya at a watershed in their area.
- Briefed the lawyer at Kilinochchi, on the status of the heritage of the Vinayaka temple at Sangupiddy. I offered to be an expert witness based on my long association with the Jaffna lagoon (search the internet - -Sachithananthan Jaffna Lagoon). Police have filed a case at Kilinochchi courts seeking judicial approval for removing the statue installed by Rudhra Senai. A day-long protest fast was planned at the site for the 22nd Saturday. Posters and banners designed. However, it was postponed at the request of the volunteers as it was a day near the observances of May 19th.
- Thanankilappu Kerativu encroachment of state land by the Catholic Bishop of Jaffna. Firstly, the name board adjacent to that of the Bishop's and later the sticker on top of the Bishop's were removed by Catholics. Next step being planned.
