 LAND GRABBER – JESUS CHRIST?

Betrayer, traitor are terminologies for extreme anti-national activists. A razor-thin line separates freedom of expression from anti-nationalism. Sedition is another term that cannot be easily confused with the fundamental rights of citizens.

He is supposed to be a cleric. He wears the coat of the cleric. His words and actions are seditious. When George Ponniah (the wolf in sheep’s clothing in the words of Jesus Christ) was arrested on 24.7.21 at 0400 hours at Madurai, India for his seditious utterances, the charges were sedition tantamounting to betrayal. He sought himself to be a traitor.

 
On the morning of 23rd July 2021 Friday, a cleric at Mannar, Sri Lanka (around 130 km east of Madurai as the crow flies) was on a protest line in front of the District secretariat. He was holding a placard along with others in the line who were also holding placards.
The placard held by the Mannar cleric (again the wolf in sheep’s clothing in the words of Jesus Christ) read thus. STOP LAND GRABBING IN THE NORTH. DO NOT IMPOSE BUDDHISTISATION.
 
This (supposed to be) male cleric is not a loner. He had a predecessor in a (supposed to be) female cleric who carried a placard a few years ago at a protest procession in Jaffna. The placard held by her read thus: LORD BUDDHA – A LAND GRABBER?
 
The accusing finger is on Buddhist hegemony! To take it further, Sinhala Buddhist hegemony! Accusations on Buddhists by whom? Christians!

These extremist Christians are hypocrites.

1. At a newly formed colony, named Puthukudiyiruppu (Mannar District, Musali Division), on state land, without any permit, a church for Velankanni Matha was erected just after the war was over. They were land-grabbing Catholics, not Buddhists. Did nobody ask: JESUS CHRIST – A LAND GRABBER? Nobody said: STOP LAND GRABBING IN THE NORTH. DO NOT IMPOSE CHRISTIANISATION.

 
2. At Thirukkethechcharam (Mannar District, Mannar town division), many acres of state land have been grabbed on the shores of Paalavi (holy to Hindus) to build the St. Lourdes church. Another adjoining land allocated to a Hindu has been grabbed to erect a shrine base for St. Mary! Did anybody ask: JESUS CHRIST – A LAND GRABBER? Nobody said: STOP LAND GRABBING IN THE NORTH. DO NOT IMPOSE CHRISTIANISATION.

 
3. At Moonrampiddy (Mannar District, Manthai west division), a public road leading to a Hindu temple was blocked by a Catholic cleric for four and a half years. Putting up a blocking fence by a Christian, not a Buddhist cannot be land grabbing! Did anybody ask: JESUS CHRIST – A LAND GRABBER? Nobody said: STOP LAND GRABBING IN THE NORTH. DO NOT IMPOSE CHRISTIANISATION.

 
4. 50 acres of cultivable land at Madu division of Mannar District. The land belongs to the farmers. The land is their ancestral property. Bishop’s House, Mannar says that the farmers should vacate their ancestral belonging to hand it over to the Bishop’s House Mannar, the headquarters for land grabbing in Mannar District. Did anybody ask: JESUS CHRIST – A LAND GRABBER? Nobody said: STOP LAND GRABBING IN THE NORTH. DO NOT IMPOSE CHRISTIANISATION.

These are four examples. In reality, Bishop’s House, Mannar is the forerunner in land grabbing in Mannar District! Land grabbing is an infectious disease with Christians. It is happening in almost all districts in the north with impunity. Protests by Hindus a silenced using violence.

5. Tellipalai Union College in the Valikamam north division of the Jaffna District incident is one of the examples. Two women instructed by Christian clerics used violence towards grabbing public school property to the American Ceylon Mission. Did anybody ask: JESUS CHRIST – A LAND GRABBER? Nobody said: STOP LAND GRABBING IN THE NORTH. DO NOT IMPOSE CHRISTIANISATION.

6. State land adjoining a Hindu temple, at Kerativu, Chavakachcheri Division of Jaffna District, allocated to the local council suddenly has a name board, THIS PROPERTY BELONGS TO THE CATHOLIC BISHOPS HOUSE, JAFFNA. From this all Hindu village, 118 residents wrote a protest letter to the Divisional Secretary asking for the removal of the display board. Did anybody ask: JESUS CHRIST – A LAND GRABBER? Nobody said: STOP LAND GRABBING IN THE NORTH. DO NOT IMPOSE CHRISTIANISATION.

There are several such incidents involving land grabbing efforts by Christians. As a cover-up for their ‘sins’, the accusing finger is on Lord Buddha and his ardent followers, the Buddhists.

Portuguese left. Dutch left. British left. Sri Lanka is a Republic now. However, the expansionist mindset of Abrahamic religionists remains in its prime form.

 
George Ponniah, Bishop’s Houses of Mannar and Jaffna, the American Ceylon Mission, and extremist Christian formations along with extremist Islamic formulations, all have one thing in common. They are anti-nationals. Sedition is their mission. Betrayal is their business. Can they be called traitors?
