Subject: Genocidal attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh

Sir / madam
Bangladesh is in turmoil.
Hindus in Bangladesh are targets of gross and reliably attested violations of all human rights and all fundamental freedoms.
We the undersigned Hindu organizations and individual Hindus in Sri Lanka are concerned that a section of humanity, (because they profess a faith, a belief, a way of life different from the majoritarian neighbours) are subject to gross and reliably attested violations of all human rights and all fundamental freedoms.
Unbelievable torture and crime are going on Hindus of Bangladesh. Group perpetrators are attacking Hindu temples, their homes, and business. They are destroying and vandalizing Hindu temples, homes, and shops. They are also looting their daily foods, clothes, money, and gold. Everybody from every corner of the world should come forward to stop these crimes.
The causes of these crimes are:
1. So-called insult to religion and hurt to feelings. Many often, the perpetrators create a fake account on Facebook by the name of a Hindu innocent people and then attack Hindu communities and, their villages.
2. Hate speech- Continuous practice of hate speech in different gatherings, social media, and other places to demoralize Hindu communities.
3. Group decisions in certain places, mass showdown, and mob violence.
4. Blasphemous acts and procession.
5. Falsely publicizing as more opportunities and benefits to Hindu people by the state and thus creating jealousy.
6. To grab lands and properties of Hindus.
7. Lust for wealth and women.
2005 World Summit of Heads of State and Government, approved by the General Assembly, notes that “the promotion and protection of the rights of persons belonging to national or ethnic, religious, and linguistic minorities contribute to political and social stability and peace and enriches the cultural diversity and heritage of society”.
Bangladesh Government should respect its own commitment to your esteemed body.  We urge you to take suitable action by protecting the Hindu minority in Bangladesh.
Thanking you
We remain
Yours sincerely
