ஆறுமுக நாவலர் அனைத்துலக வானூர்தி நிலையம்

தொடர் வண்டிகள் இல்லை. எந்திரக் கப்பல்களோ, வள்ளங்களோ இல்லை வானூர்திகள் இல்லை.  மகிழுந்துகள், பேருந்துகள், சரக்குந்துகள், உழவுந்துகள், மலையுந்துகள் எதுவுமே இல்லை.

ஆனாலும் பயணித்தார். மக்களுக்காகப் பயணித்தார். நாட்டுக்காகப் பயணித்தார். மரபுகளைப் பேணப் பயணித்தார். பண்பாட்டை வாழவைக்கப் பயணித்தார்.

தனக்காக எதையும் வைத்திருக்கவில்லை, சேமிக்கவில்லை, விட்டுப் போகவும் இல்லை.

நமது மண், நமது நீர், நமது வானம், நமது காற்று, நமது முன்னோர் இவற்றோடு வாழ்ந்தனர். ஒவ்வொரு செயலும் சோதனையே. நன்மை தருவனவோ? தீமை தருவனவோ? நன்மை தருவனவற்றைப் பெருக்குவதும் தீமை வருவனவற்றை ஒதுக்குவதும் ஆக, சோதனைகளின் விளைவுகளாகப் படிப்படியாகச் செதுக்கிச் செதுக்கி உருவாக்கிய தமிழ் மரபுகள், மண்ணின் மரபுகள் அழிந்து விடாமல் காப்பதற்காகப் பயணித்தவர்.

சொல்லில் வல்லவர். எழுத்தில் எழுஞாயிறு. சொல்லையும் செயலையும் வாழ்வாக்கியவர். சோர்விலர். அஞ்சா நெஞ்சினர். ஆற்றலர். பயணத்தையே வாழ்வாக்கியவர்.

அவரே ஆறுமுக நாவலர்.

சீனாவில் Wei Yuan (1794-1856), Li Hongzhang (1823-1901), Kang Youwei (1858-1927), Liang Qichao (1873-1929), and Tan Sitong (1865-1898) இந்தியாவில் Dayanand Saraswati  (1824-1883), Vishnu Bhikaji Gokhale (1825-1871) என ஆசிய நிலப் பரப்பில் வாழ்ந்த இவரின் சம காலத்தவர் போன்றே இவரும் அலையென வந்த அந்நியப் பண்பாட்டுப் படையெடுப்பைத் தனி ஒருவனாய் ஈழத்தில் தடுத்தவர்.

ஓடங்களில் வள்ளங்களில் படகுகளில் தோணிகளில் வடகடலைக் கடந்து தமிழகம் சென்று மீண்டவர்.

மாட்டு வண்டிகளில் குதிரை வண்டிகளில் ஈழத்திலும் தமிழகத்திலும் தெருத்தெருவாக அலைந்தவர்.

யாழ்ப்பாணத்திற்கு அனைத்துலக வானூர்தி நிலையம் மீண்டும் வந்துவிட்டதே எனத் தமிழர்கள் மகிழ்கிறார்கள்.

தன் பயணங்களால் நாட்டுக்காக, மக்களுக்காக, கால்கள் தேய்ந்து, உடல் நலம் குன்றி வாழ்ந்த ஆறுமுக நாவலரின் பெயரே யாழ்ப்பாணம் அனைத்துலக வானூர்தி நிலையத்தின் பெயர் ஆகவேண்டும் என்று நினைக்கிறார்கள்.

ஆறுமுக நாவலர் அனைத்துலக வானூர்தி நிலையம் என்று தம் வானூர்தி நிலையத்தை அழைக்க ஈழத்தமிழர்கள் விரும்புகிறார்கள்.

சைவ தமிழ் அமைப்புகள் ஒரே குரலில் இலங்கை அரசுக்கு இந்த வேண்டுகோளை வைப்பதால், இந்த மண் பெற்றெடுத்த பயணப் பெருமகன், நடைபுகழ் நாவலர் அனைத்துலக ஆறுமுகநாவலர் ஆவார்.

Travellers who crafted and rudder-ed the course of human civilization are now part of history. They were a global phenomenon, crossing time and space in serving humanity.

Arumuka Navalar was on such traveler who crafted, chiseled, shaped and formulated Tamil renaissance during the nineteenth century. He was not alone. Asia produced many during his time. Contemporaries and renaissance workers of Arumuka Navalar in China were Wei Yuan (1794-1856), Li Hongzhang (1823-1901), Kang Youwei (1858-1927), Liang Qichao (1873-1929), and Tan Sitong (1865-1898). His contemporaries in India were Dayanand Saraswati  (1824-1883), Vishnu Bhikaji Gokhale (1825-1871) and many others. His contemporaries in Japan were the Shoguns.

There were no ships, mechanized boats, out board triggers or speed boats. There were no trains. There were no cars, buses, lorries, tractors or jeeps. There were no aero-planes. Bullock carts and horse carriages were the chief modes of land transport and sail boats were the chief mode of sea voyages for Arumuka Navalar.

He was a traveler not resting in one place. He toured to lecture. He was an orator par excellence. He was a prosodic without a match. He wrote to publish 72 titles in Tamil. A knowledge bank, he lived for his fellow Tamils without any expectation or reward or renown. He never owned anything.

He was a single handed protector of a culture, tradition and civilization, chiseled, sculptured and shaped by the sons of the soil through experimentation, filtration and consolidation through thousands of productive years. Arumuka Navalar like his renaissance oriented Asian contemporaries effectively blocked the intrusion of cultures, traditions and social frames that were alien and deteriorative.

These memories pass by when an international airport resurfaces in Jaffna re-opening the global skies to air traffic. Memories of a traveler unfolds, of a traveler who protected, preserved and propagated values and ethics near and dear to the sons of the soil. The international airport in Jaffna should be named after this selfless social reformer befitting the heritage of Jaffna,

Arumuka Navalar International Airport shall be the apt nom de plume. Wonder, joy and happiness shall be the consequence of this nomenclature to the Tamils who have an un-interrupted history of habitation in the island.

I appeal to Saiva Tamil organisations to forward a request to the Government of Sri Lanka towards this nomenclature.
