 அக் குடும்பச் சிறுவனுக்கு ஆங்கிலம் கற்பிக்க வந்தார் சிலுவையர்.

கமலா தேவியின் வீட்டைப் போதகரான சிலுவையர்

 ஆராய்ந்தார்.

சிறுவனின் பாட்டி கமலாம்பாள். வீட்டில் மிகச் செல்வாக்கு மிக்கவர்.

பாட்டியின் மனத்தை மாற்றினால் குடும்பத்தையே கிறித்தவராக்கலாம். சிலுவையர் கணித்தார்.

சிலுவையர் மகிழ்ந்தார். பாட்டியை மனம் மாற்றி விடலாம் என நம்பினார்.

இராமன் நடந்தான். வழியில் கல். இராமனின் கால்கள் கல்லைத் தொட்டன. அகலிகையாக எழுந்தாள்.

இலங்கைக்குச் செல்லச் சேதுவைக் கடக்க வேண்டும். பாலமாகக் கற்களை அமைத்தனர். கடலில் கற்கள் மிதந்தன. இராமனும் படையுடன் கடந்து சென்றான்.

பாட்டி விடாமல் பற்பல  சொன்னாள்.

வெற்றி வெற்றி எனச் சிலுவையார் தன்னுள் மகிழ்ந்தார். 

பாட்டி.... நீங்கள்  தேவாலயத்தின் அப்பத்தைச் சாப்பிட்டீர்கள்... 

எனவே நீங்கள் இப்பொழுது ஒரு கிறித்தவர். உங்கள் பெயர் ஆட்ரே. உங்களைக் கிறித்துவராக்கினேன்.

என்றார் சிலுவையர். 

பாட்டியோ, சிலுவையரின்  காதைப்  பிடித்தார். திருகினார்.

நீ பெரிய மூடன். ஒரு துண்டு அப்பம் சாப்பிட்டதால் நான் கிறித்தவர் என்றால்...,  

நாள்தோறும் என் வீட்டில் உணவு கொடுத்திருக்கிறேன். அதனால் நீ இந்துவாகுவாயா? 

இந்த மண்ணின் உணவு, காற்று,  நீர் இவற்றை விடாது உட்கொள்கிறாய்.  

உன் வாதப்படி, நீ என்றோ இந்துவாகினாய்
